A Stray Bullet in the Bombing

At the time of the occupation our family lived in the city of Zaporizhzhia in Ukraine.
“A stray bullet caught him as he ran, and he died before my eyes.”
In 1942 almost all of Ukraine was occupied by the German invaders. We fled the Germans, and on the way our train came under bombing. People began to jump from the cars and run in different directions. My grandfather jumped out too, but a stray bullet caught him as he ran, and he died before my eyes.
We arrived at the city of Ishim in the Tyumen region and lived there the whole war. It was a very hard time. We were starving, but we still survived.
Those are the memories I have left.
